My article is about a student attending a college, "College Park" who will be showing a hard-core pornographic film, causing some to worry that the university is promoting the degradation of women. The chaplain of the Catholic Student Center at Maryland, the Rev. Kyle Ingels, said screening pornographic films does not lead to a positive atmosphere on campus. "We're trying to promote greater respect on campus of all people and something like a pornographic film is not contributing to the buildup of the human person, It's degrading to the human person. It really runs counter to our efforts to try to form people to be men and women who will go out and contribute to society." University officials acknowledge that the film is "not for everyone" but say the idea was to provide students with an alternative to late-night drinking and other dangerous activities. Some people (Adults) thought this was a good idea.
I agree with the Rev. Kyle Ingles when he said "screening pornographic films does not lead to a positive atmosphere on campus." This is not a positive example for the incomming freshmens or people who might be deciding on what college(s) to attend, their school could lose alot of intrest for it being one of the biggest, attracting colleges in Maryland.
This would impact many people because people would look at the school different. They wouldn't think that they would be going to the school for what they want to do (in life), they would be there looking at Pornography.
