My article is about the Baltimore schools chief Andre's Alonso reorganization plan to close failing schools and expand successful ones. This plan would affect three dozen schools and thousands of students. The Low-performing schools that no one wants to attend would shut or merge with higher-performing, more popular ones. Laurence.G. Paquin middle/high is severely under enrolled. would merge with another alternative school that needs more space. Digital Harbor would expand as one school as the National Academy Foundation(NAF) school moves out into Paul Laurence Dunbar middle to be combined middle/high school. Staff at the schools recommended to close Harriet Tubman elementary, Thurgood Marshall high, Samuel L. Banks high, and Homeland security Academy.
In my opinion, I believe this reorganization plan should have went into effect a long time ago. For all the bad schools, i believe they should have been shut down; Thurgood Marshall Homeland Security Academy, and many more. Even the bad middle schools should have been shutdown the next group of kids that might want to attend there. The bad high schools should be shut down for the next group of kids attending (want to attend) so they won't get caught up in any bad habits that they see others doing.
This plan would impact many people, students especially. Many kids who attend the school that Alonso plan on shutting down maybe use to it and it maybe closer to their home. If they close the school the students would have to learn to corporate in a new environment. This wold impact teacher's also because they might be use to they working environment and they would have to meet new people.
