My article is about A seventeen year old girl, Jabreria Handy, who attendes Samuel L. Banks high school, accused of assaulting her grandmother so severely that the 69-year old woman had a heart attack and died moments later. Jabreria Handy will be tried as an adult on a charge of murder. Jabreria has been suspended nine times during the last two school years, once for throwing a large textbook into a door, causing glass to break and scatter over a teacher's arm. Handy also had refused to attend counseling and had been diagnosed with oppositional defiance disorder. Handy had been accused of threatening to kill a teacher's cats on the same day police allege she pushed her grandmother onto a bed, got on top of her and held her down until the her brother pulled her off.
When I first read this article, I was really suprised and shock not that I knew her or anything but the fact that a child would actually do somethng like this to an elder/family member. I also believe that she was a bad child or she had behavior problems as a child thats why she was living with her grandmother.
This would have an impact on many people in the families life. I say this beacuse if her mother's friend know about this, this may scare her and her friends may not even want to talk to her again. People might judge her and their family.

Alonso proposes school closings, mergers and job cuts
My article is about Baltimore schools chief Andrés Alonso huge reorganization plan to close failing schools and expand successful ones. This plan would affect about three dozen schools and thousands of students. Part of his plan includes William H. Lemmel Middle, would close, giving a charter school in the building room to expand and creating space for a new alternative school to open. Laurence G. Paquin Middle/High, which for more than 40 years has educated pregnant girls and teen mothers but is severely under enrolled, would merge with another alternative school that needs more space. Digital Harbor High, would both expand as NAF moves out of the Digital Harbor building. NAF would absorb the student body of struggling Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle to become a combined middle/high school. Staff at the schools recommended to close - including Harriet Tubman Elementary, Thurgood Marshall High, Samuel L. Banks High and Homeland Security Academy.
In my opinion, I believe that this plan should've been done along time ago. I think all the schools that were always known for fires, fights, shootings just unexceptable behavior should've been close, for example, Thurgood Marshall. I also believe that this may not also be a good plan because some schools may not really be bad or cause the behavior that they may show on the news.
This plan would have a huge impact on the students attending the schools because many kids may feel comfortable where they are at.
